A sport/shooter game I mode for mini jam 98. The concept for the game jam was empty, so of course, I thought of the constant struggle animals have when trying to get food from a jar ... the concept later evolved into a Bowl so here we are; Empty the bowl! The idea is to be the animal that is better at emptying the bowl by shooting the balls inside it to the other side of the court.

The jam had as a limitation to make the game a rougelike ... since that was beyond my abilities, I implemented a progression system for the attributes of the characters. At the end of each stage, the player gets to choose which stats to improve for themselves AND the enemy, allowing them to tailor their expression. The possible choices of traits to improve are chosen from a pool at random. That was as far as I could to implement the roguelike elements.

Is this a hard follow of the limitation? No. Did I take this seriously? No. Did I have fun? Yes! This was my first game jam, and I worked alone to see how far I could get. I am actually just proud to be able to submit a finished game. I even learn how to do some particle systems and basic animations to give it some nice touches.

I am sure this game will not get any awards, but it is the first step into being a better game developer. The nice jam I will send something far better!
